Isn’t Caspian blonde?
In my The Voyage of Dawn Treader book (Harper Collins, published in a Narnia collectors set; link to cover pic below), the cover shows Caspian as a blonde. But, in the Prince Caspian book (also form the same set), he has brown or black hair.
In the BBC series, Caspian has ash blonde hair. But in the recent movie, he has brown or black hair, and speaks Spanish. The writers chose to make the Telmarines descend form the Spanish, which explains why his hair is dark in the movie. But it still doesn’t explain the books.
I was wondering if it is mentioned in the book, or if there is a source which confirms his hair color.

In the original illustrations by Pauline Baynes, Caspian has short dark hair in a bob, a style often worn by boys in medieval times. Lewis never mentions the colour of his hair. (He never describes the appearance of the Pevensie children either.)
In the book Caspian is a child aged about 10, but the Disney writers had to make him into a love interest for Susan. I found that completely fatuous and typical Disney slop, although the Spanish-type heritage ascribed to the Telmarines did make sense and was perfectly acceptable.
What was not acceptable was re-writing the plot. I hate the arrogance of writers who see fit to “improve” on what is already excellent. If they are so great, why not write their own movie from scratch and leave an acknowledged classic untouched?
PS there are plenty of blond Spaniards, as it happens!
