Bueno. I am starting to do some research for areas to live in Mexico. I love everything about Mexico…?
…they are so laid back. I love their FOOD, culture, music, etc and would love nothing more than to live there. I would like to live near a beach…and I am not looking for the Ritz. I want a cozy place to live that is affordable. I dont mind the slums, I can handle myself. Does anyone have any suggestions for areas?? Or better yet a site that I can find rental property in Mexico? I would like a 1 br apt…or even to rent a room. Any help would be appreciated. Oh yea, it needs to be cheap…I live a simple life and do not require much at all…just a beach and a place to sleep

There are a couple things to consider. Are you going on a permanent basis? Do you have some sort of ongoing income that would total$1500.00 a month.
If you a going as a tourist it will be a lot less complicated. A simple six month tourist visa is included as you know, in your airfare.
You may want go and find a cheap safe hotel and begin your search for an apt from that point and under no circumstances do this in December or over the easter holidays. Apartment (Departamentos) start at around two hundred a month and nice one bredrooms can be had for four.
There is a woman in Acapulco called Rosalinda I know she has properties for rent and they are cheap but I dont know how many. This is the phone number I was given and I am not sure how well she speaks English but she rented to a friend of mine in Texas.

Cheap Property in Spain – Read This Before Buying a Bank Repossession
There is now a real interest in buying distressed property within the Costa Del Sol region of Spain. Unsurprisingly, people who have been waiting with their cash reserves are thinking that this may be the right time to strike and bag themselves a genuine bargain on the Costas. Could this be so, or is it just a load of hype with all the best auction/repossessed stock being earmarked for sale for bank staff and their own families?Because of the sheer number of repossessions by the bank, there are some real gems out there, but the following advice should help you better understand the correct way of buying a cheap Spanish property.
Firstly always make sure you actually get inside the property before you make any decisions. This piece of advice seems so obvious and many of you reading this will think I am an idiot for mentioning it. All I would say to that is you would be surprised at what people do when they think they have unearthed a real bargain. Never, ever buy such a property on the strength of photos or the advice of a realtor. Arrange a viewing and always give as much notice as possible, 48 hours minimum I would suggest because some banks need this time to gain access.
Secondly, always make notes when you get inside the property, please view without rose-tinted spectacles on and really be mercenary in your approach. List every single point that will require work. Often when the bank actually puts up a property for sale that has been repossessed, the previous owner may have completely given up on things like maintainence or even worse ripped out the kitchen and fittings. All of these things can really mount up and at the end of the day, you will be paying for them on top of your purchase price.
Lastly, make sure the property really is a bargain. The only way to establish this effectively is by adequate market research and forging strong relationships with reputable property agencies within the area. It is important for you to remember that prices have risen out of control in the boom years, so a discount from peak sales prices are generally negated, as the property was way over value in the first place.

My husband and I are thinking of leaving Florida and moving to another country. We always watch House Hunters International and see Americans moving to other countries and we were inspired. We’ve researched a lot of countries like Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, etc but have found that a lot of Americans have moved there as well and the prices are not as cheap as we thought. We’re now looking into El Salvador but I can’t seem to find any information regarding real estate and properties for sale over there.
We have a total of $150,000 that we want to relocate with (which is not a lot) and are looking for a home on or really close to the beach any where in either Central America or the Caribbean. I’m cuban and my husband is african american so we’re also looking for a place that is friendly and open to americans. Also we have 2 daughters that are in elementary school (who barely speak spanish) so we need a place that’s safe. Any suggestions on where to move and look?
