What are the requirements to get into Yale University?
I know that there are “no exact requirements” to get into and Ivy League school, but what are the usual requirements? And if anyone knows, can you guys please tell me if I even have a chance to get into an Ivy League school(particularly Yale).
My GPA is 3.93333
I am doing extracurricular activities: fashion club and Foreign Language Honor Society
I haven’t taken my SAT’s yet because I am in 10th grade
And I am going to join my school’s step/dance team in the Spring
And this probably doesn’t help, but I’m not in any honors or AP classes. But I am thinking about taking honors Algebra & Trigonometry next year. And I will be taking Advanced Spanish next year, and I may consider taking Honors English too.
If your 3.933 is unweighted, obviously it couldn’t get much better than that, but you would need to take a very rigorous academic program and continue to do well for the next couple of years. If your school has honors and AP classes, and you aren’t in them, that would hurt you. You also would need at least a 2200 on the SAT Is. You would probably have to be one of the top 2 students at your high school.
As to extracurricular activities, what they want to see is something that really stands out. Belonging to a couple of clubs at school would not be enough. You would need to get involved competitively in some sort of sport or arts or debate program, something like that, winning at the state level at least. Or you could start up a community program which would make a difference to people’s lives. Or write a book that gets published. And they want to see continuous involvement over your high school years.
On top of that,you would have to write an outstanding essay and get amazing letters of recommendation. Sound impossible? Consider that there are millions of students who graduate from high school every year, thousands of colleges, and only 8 Ivy League schools.

The quest to become a bullfighter is very common in Mexico and Spain. This is a very challenging adventure that requires skills, agility, intelligence and good luck. Bullfighters, called Matadors, are well respected members of the Mexican and spanish cultures. While this is an honorable profession that also pays very well, they know their life is on the line every time they step into the arena.
The bullfighting museum in Cordoba is a tribute to the bullfighters who have fought the toughest bulls around. It is also a tribute to the brave Matadors who have died in the ring at the mercy of a bull determined to win. This is a great place to view the complete history of the bullfighters of Spain.
Bullfighters are a group of professionals that are very controversial to the rest of society. They are well respected in Mexico and Spain, drawing thousands of spectators to the traditional fiestas that take place each year. However, those of us from other cultures just don’t understand. While we refer to bullfighters as crazy sportsmen, they do what is honorable in their culture. Those of us from other cultures view bullfighters as greedy men taking advantage of innocent animals that have no choice but to fight in the ring until the death of them or the Matador.
The traditional set up is to have three Matadors in the ring at the same time, fighting against a total of six bulls. Each of the bulls is at least four years old, weighting at least 600 pounds. The bullfighter has to face his bulls head on. The goal is to stab the bull in the heart with a small, sharp knife. If he misses, he has the chance to pierce the bull in the spinal cord. In addition to the men in the ring on horses, the bulls are at a grave disadvantage against the bullfighters in the ring.
The verdict is still out about bullfighters. Some view them as brave and fearless, fulfilling the dream and honor of their culture. Others think bullfighters are absolutely crazy or just plain reckless. Regardless of how you view bullfighters, they continue to be in demand to meet the crowds desire to see such matches between man and beast taking place.

I’m so scared and don’t know what to do. It’s about being accepted to a college or university. Please help me
Hi. Well… i just received my report card for the end of my junior year in high school and I have a 2.7 as my gpa. I don’t take any AP or honors classes and I won’t be taking any for my senior year. My weighted gpa is probably around a 3.2 or 3.3. I know it’s not good, but i’ll be taking most of the colleges requirements like taking either 4 years of this certain class or 3 years. I know that junior year is the most important year but do you think there are colleges in California beside community colleges that will accept me. I really scared and disappointed because it feels like I won’t be accpeted to any colleges since they take like 3.7 or higher. But also I do a lot of volunteer and community service. Does that play a part? My extra activities is being on the Spanish Honor Society for my junior year. Will colleges or universities accpet me? Please help me!
Don’t worry. To me it sounds as if you are probably UC eligible, and most definitely CSU eligible. I had a similiar situation, but my GPA was 2.9 and A-G=3.3. You are done with worrying about the grades that you will use to apply to any college with. Now you should focus on maintaining your extracurriculars, and writing a really good personal statement. Also colleges look at what classes you are taking during your senior year, so you might what to reconsider those honor classes. I would at least apply to 5 CSU’s including, and maybe UC Merced and UC Riverside. Also if you can take your ACT plus writing or SAT Reasoning, and SAT II’s again. Wishing you the best of luck!
