Indicative and subjunctive are not tenses; they are moods. Tenses deal with time, such as present, future, etc.
infinitive: “to do something”
no conjugation – ends in -ar, -er, or -ir
indicative: “definite action”

You use the (present) indicative one subject and the action is in the present.
Ex.
Yo voy a clase.
I go/am going to class.
Mi hermano come mucho.
My brother eats/is eating a lot.
Nosotros trabajamos juntos.
We work/are working together.
You use the subjunctive when there are two subjects and there is uncertainty about whether the action will take place or not. It is usually combined with the use of the indicative and almost always used with the conjunction “que”.
Ex.
Mi maestra (subject 1) quiere (indicative) que yo (subject 2) vaya (subjunctive) a clase.
My teacher wants me to go to class.
(My teacher wants that I go to class.
Yo (subject 1) espero (indicative) que mi hermano coma (subjunctive) mucho.
I hope that my brother eats a lot.
El jefe (subject 1) nos recomienda (indicative) que nosotros trabajemos (subjunctive) juntos.
The boss recommends that we work together.
To get the conjugations for the subjunctive is quite simple; first you conjugate the verb in the “yo” form and then add on the “opposite endings”.
So for -ar verbs the opposite endings would be:
yo – e
tu – es
el/ella/ud – e
nosotros – emos
ellos/ellas/uds – en
and for -ir/-er verbs:
yo – a
tu – as
el/ella/ud – a
nosotros – amos
ellos/ellas/uds – an
There are only a few irregular in the subjunctive:
dar, estar, ir, saber, ser, and haber

yo este, tu estes, el/ella/ud. este, nosotros estemos, ellos/ellas/uds esten

The ifinitive is not a tense at all, but just an assertion of an action usually used with other “helping verbs”. Infinitives always end in ar, er or ir.
Ex.
Quiero “hablar”
Tengo que “estudiar”
Puedo “correr
Pienso “viajar”
Espero “ganar”
