Amar(verb) and amor(noun) are usually used in a romantic way but you can also them to talk about your family.
Querer(verb) means want but also means love n a family or friendly way. you can also say “Querer mucho” and you use “cariño” as the noun to talk about ths kind of love, you can say “sentir cariño por alguien”,that means that you love someone ina famly or friendly way or “tener el cariño de alguien” that means that someone loves youin that way.
you can say “querer” in a romantic way, too. But love is mor formal and important. Querer may means love,and amar may means really love.
